Welcome to
Did you know...some plants and springtime flowers were poisonous for dogs? The one that alarmed me the most was daffodils. I am lucky that Cooper isn’t even interested in them, but if you have a curious George at home, daffodils and especially their bulbs are highly poisonous. Here’s a more complete list: • Autumn crocus • Azalea • Black locust • Bleeding heart • Buttercups • Cherry tree • Daphne • Elderberry • Foxglove • Golden chain • Iris • Jack-in-the-pulpit • Jimson weed • Jasmine • Laurels • Larkspur • Lily-of-the-valley • Mayapple • Mistletoe • Moonseed • Monkshood • Nightshade • Oak tree • Poison hemlock • Rhododenron • Rhubarb• Star of Bethlehem • Water hemlock • Wisteria • Yew, and this is just the outdoor plants. Info taken from https://www.petguide.com/insurance/dog/outdoor-and-indoor-plants-poisonous-plants-for-dogs/ Did you know…the best way to irradicate skunk smell: 1 quart 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and 1 teaspoon dawn dishwashing liquid. Mix together and use immediately since it is unstable. Shampoo on your dog and let it sit 5 mins before rinsing out, repeat if necessary. Great info to have, but I hope no one needs to use this!! Did you know…This from my vet – Preiser Animal Hospital…Tick Borne Disease is up!! Lyme Disease 15% increase, Anaplasmosis 63% increase and Ehrlichia is also on the increase. Just a reminder to use Flea & Tick prevention year round!!! Did you know….Ok, this I saw on facebook from ARK Charities. Since I am not familiar with the ingredients of Swiffer, I am just passing the info on. Take it for what it’s worth. They are warning of the dangers of Swiffer Wet Jet liquid solution being ingested by dogs (dogs will lick their paws after crossing a wet floor) and developing Liver Failure. The liquid is similar to antifreeze which if a dog ingests is fatal. Lesson learned here is…always be aware of ANY chemical you use to clean the house and how it may affect your loved one. Here’s the last….Did you know…some essential oils used in diffusers and sprays are toxic to pets. Here’s a list I googled http://www.kylemcmahon.me/what-essential-oils-are-toxic-to-dogs/ Please read the whole article, the main thing besides avoiding the following are dilute, dilute, dilute and consult your Vet!
